An Innovative Multi-Unit Apartment Project in Hayward, CA
An Industrial Welding Solutions multi-unit project, Legacy Apartments in Hayward, CA, was featured in an article by journalist Blanca Torres for the San Francisco Business Times.
Menlo Park-based prefabricated construction company Katerra partnered with AIG and Legacy Partners to bring a new approach to housing in Hayward, CA, with a plan to design and build a state-of-the-art apartment complex.
IWS was enlisted to provide structural steel and architectural metals throughout the project. In addition to these architectural and structural elements, our scope of work included stairs, guardrails, elevator structures, trash enclosures, and commercial canopies throughout the site.
The complex was among the first ground-up projects Katerra has built in the Bay Area. The project has brought more innovative approaches to housing in Hayward. The location is less than half a mile from the South Hayward BART Station.
“Hayward continues to seek smart, transit-oriented developments, staying competitive with the Bay Area’s explosive growth,” said Sara Buizer, the city’s planning manager, in a statement.
